 

When multiplying exponents with same base we can add the exponents

$9a^{4}+12a^2-6\left(3a^2+4\right)$

 

Multiply the single term $-6$ by each term of the polynomial $\left(3a^2+4\right)$

$9a^{4}+12a^2-18a^2-24$

 

Combining like terms $12a^2$ and $-18a^2$

$9a^{4}-6a^2-24$

$9a^{4}-6a^2-24$
